Coffee farmers from the Central region of Kenya are enjoying improved earnings from their produce following an increase in prices per kg paid by processing cooperative societies compared to last year. At the start of 2023, farmers are paid USD 0.97/kg (Ksh. 120) compared to USD USD 0.81/kg (Ksh. 100) last year. Increased earnings is due to improved coffee quality, better pay through direct sales, and higher production volumes.
