In Apr-24, the sugar price in Egypt rose by 37.03% month-on-month (MoM) to USD 0.77 per kilogram (EGP 37/kg), compared to USD 0.56/kg (EGP 27/kg) in Mar-24. This increase was due to inflation, low volumes in the Egyptian market, and some factories shutting down because of a shortage of raw materials such as sugarcane.
