The price of Indian Vannamei shrimp, size 30 pieces/kg, decreased to USD 4.63 per kilogram (INR 385/kg) in W51, marking the lowest decrease over two years. In the Andhra Pradesh region of India, as of W51, the prices of shrimp sizes 40 pcs/kg, 60 pcs/kg, 80 pcs/kg, and 100 pcs/kg have remained relatively stable for six consecutive weeks, reaching USD 4.21/kg (INR 350/kg), USD 3.31/kg (INR 275/kg), USD 2.82/kg (INR 235/kg), and USD 2.58/kg (INR 215/kg), respectively.
Compared to 2022, the prices of larger shrimp sizes have experienced a significant drop, marking the lowest decrease in more than two years. The average shrimp price has decreased by USD 0.18/kg (INR 15/kg) compared to 2022 and is nearly USD 2.40/kg (INR 200/kg) lower than in 2021. Notably, the price of vannamei size 60 pieces/kg has dropped to the lowest in the last four years.
