Indian Cavendish Bananas are in Demand due to Low Price after festival season

As the festival season ended, bananas in export quality are being sold at USD 0.14 per kg.
During festivals in October, the price of bananas ranged from USD 0.3 per kg to USD 0.4 per kg. And the price dropped by USD 0.14~0.2 per kg.
The export volume of bananas is expected to continue its growth this year. In addition, APEDA also conducts Virtual trade fairs with importing countries to promote agricultural and processed food products.
The Department of Commerce also supports exports through various schemes like Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme, Market Access Initiative, etc.
In a significant boost to exports of Geographical Indications (GI) certified agricultural produce, a consignment of fiber and mineral-rich 'Solapur & Jalgaon banana' has been exported to the Middle East.
