Indonesian rice distributors have seen an increase in rice prices since October 2022, causing disruption in the market. The rice price increased by 10%, from USD 0.64/kg (IDR 9,500/kg) to USD 0.70/kg (IDR 10,514/kg) in December, due to a shortage in the market. The Indonesian government decided to increase imports by 200K MT in W4, in an attempt to stabilize the price until February 2023.
