Iran has increased olive exports during the first 7 months of the current fiscal year, March 20-October 21, exceeding 129 KMT which represents an increase of 34% compared to the same period last year.
On the other hand, the country's olive oil production output has significantly increased during the past few years and reached 11.6 KMT last year. The domestic olive oil production meets only half of the demand and the country imports around 12 KMT of olive oil per year mainly from Turkey, Italy, Greece, and Spain.
Iran is targeting to increase the consumption of olive oil per capita along with domestic production.
