Indonesian Cavendish banana plantations enjoy an increasing trend in demand and price. Currently, the domestic supply is mainly from small farmers who own plantations as large as 1-2 hectares. However, several large plantations have also entered a period of productivity. The domestic demand will remain high, resulting in high prices, for Cavendish bananas as the government regulates banana imports.
