High demand and shortage of containers has caused their price to increase by more than 75%. The container that costed $2000 till last month, now costs $3500 approximately. Although, the suppliers are willing to bear the high costs, yet the containers are unavailable with the shipping lines. Since start of February, three shipping lines have discontinued their operations in Pakistan shifting all the burden on the remaining ones. The exporters are now hoping for the government to intervene and come up with a solution to overcome their losses.
