There are some kinds of deliberate attempts and schemes by global actors within the cocoa value chain to keep prices of the commodity persistently low in the international market despite the shortage of the commodity from the two largest producers, including Ghana and Ivory Coast.
This current development is worsening cocoa farmers' living conditions across Ghana, who form a greater part of the whole cocoa value chain.
