In the Delhi wholesale market, onion prices stabilized during W33 after experiencing fluctuations over the past three days. However, over the last week, there was a noticeable price hike, particularly for Chopra onions which have since seen a price decrease. On Aug-14, 42 trucks arrived carrying new stock and 40 trucks with old stock.
During W33, Rajasthan contributed 13 trucks of onions. Kuchaman onions are priced between USD 10.82 to 12.02/40kg bag (INR 900 to 1000/40kg bag). Ajmair onions ranged from USD 10.82 to 14.43/40kg bag (INR 900-1200/40kg bag). Nashik supplied 25 trucks of onions, priced at USD 12.02 to 13.23/40kg (INR 1000 to 1100/40kg bag). Pune has dispatched 20 trucks of onions, with prices ranging from USD 14.43 to 15.03/40kg bag (INR 1200 to 1250/40kg bag). Madhya Pradesh dispatched 25 trucks of onions, priced at USD 9.62 to 13.23/40 kg bag (INR 800 to 1100/40 kg bag).
The market anticipates prices to remain high until November, with Karnataka onions expected to enter the market after September. In the Mumbai wholesale market, onion prices range from USD 20.44 to 33.06/100kg bag (INR 1700 to 2750/100kg bag) for mid to good-quality products. Smaller-sized onions with peeled skin and B-grade quality are priced lower. Market experts predict a potential price increase of USD 0.036 to 0.12/kg (INR 3 to 10/kg) in the upcoming weeks, a trend that is projected to continue until November.
