The epidemic continues, the freight cost is soaring, the pests have led to an increase in secondary fruit. Various reasons have made the sales of honey tangerine this year particularly difficult. Cai Yong-Sheng, deputy director of the Taichung Municipal Bureau of Agriculture, pointed out that 10-20% of the honey tangerine in Taichung are still being harvested, and there are 4,000-5,000 MT of stock in the warehouse, nearly 60% of which are waiting to be sold. China has always been the main exporter of Taiwan's honey tangerine. In 2020, 1,130 MT were exported to China, accounting for 78% of the total foreign sales. However, in 2021, the number exported to China has plummeted to only 243 MT.
