New lemon production regions are emerging in Mexico

Currently, 95% of lemon production takes place at the states of Tamaulipas, Veracruz, and Michoacan in Mexico. Since the 3 states have high crime rates compared to other states, most lemon producers are shifting their production to the state of Nuevo Leon for a more stable environment.
