Queensland's grain harvest is more than half completed and there's a lot of chatter about how a new wheat variety has performed.
It's name is "Borlaug 100" and promises Aussie farmers a big increase in yield over other varieties, even in droughts time. It's being distributed in Australia by four grain growers who learnt of the variety in Mexico.
The main market for this new wheat variety and grain will probably be to cattle feedlots, which don't require high-protein varieties.
