When exporting RCN(Raw cashew nuts) from Nigeria, quality checks are conducted at every stage as soon as the products from different farmers arrive at the warehouse. On top of this, most traders carry out the inspection themselves to check the quality. Although the quality check conducted in every stage is well-managed, KOR(Kernel Output Ratio) related issues are quite common when sourcing RCN from Nigeria. Last week, there were serious quality issues found in Nigerian RCN before loading. The KOR(Kernel Output Ratio) was much below nine, the quality standard originally indicated in the sales contract. On top of this, the onboarding process hasn’t been started yet until the container shortage and port congestion issues in Nigeria.
