Nigeria’s upcoming 2022 sesame season is projected to be highly relevant for the global sesame trade in terms of export volume and demand, due to projected reduced production from both India and Pakistan as a result of extreme weather conditions. The price for the 2022 season is projected to be above USD 1,500/MT which is higher than previous seasons. The expected price increase is due to the current economic instability within the country but will not stop demand from India, China and Japan, which are the largest export markets.
