Norwegian Salmon Exports Drop as Prices Hit New Yearly Low

In W40, Norway’s Fresh Salmon exports, particularly in the 3 to 6-kilogram (kg) Superior Salmon category, declined by 9.2% week-on-week (WoW), equating to 2,695 metric tons (mt) less than the previous week. Prices continued their downward trend, dropping by 2.70% WoW, hitting a new yearly low of USD 6.38/kg. Unlike last year, when the price decline had already reversed, pressure on prices remains more intense in 2024, with no signs of an upward shift.
