Due to the persistent rains, the Northern Cape region of South Africa, the largest raisin producing area, is negatively affected in production. For the past three weeks, some producers have not harvested grapes due to continuous rainfall. To make good quality raisins, climatic conditions must be dry and hot. Raisins currently in the drying phase are also being affected due to excessive moisture, as most producers utilize open-air or direct sunlight drying processes.
