Until August 2020, capsicum exports totaled 62,270 tons for US $ 171 million, (+12% volume and +13% value compared with the same period 2019). Despite the increase in supply, prices were similar to those of 2019, which were around US $ 1.79 per kilogram.

The main destination for capsicum shipments was the United States (41% market share) and Spain (29%). Unfortunately, these two countries have a high market concentration and pay low prices, which are between US $ 1.7 and US $ 1.9 per kilogram. Another interesting market is Mexico that concentrates 5% of peruvian capsicum exports and has a growing potencial. This was the market that stood out the most, as it increased its orders 15 times and paid US $ 2.15 per kilogram. Other markets such as Netherlands, United Kingdom and Chile paid US $ 2.52, US $ 2.59 and US $ 2.14 per kilogram, respectively.
