SENASA has been managing the access of granadilla produced by farmers from Pasco, Junín, Huánuco and Cajamarca to Latin American markets such as Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador and others countries like South Korea and South Africa.

The granadilla is grown in 11 regions of our country and between 2019 - 2020, they have been shipped to in Germany, Brazil, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

For the export of this product, the international sanitary authorities demand the phytosanitary certification that certifies that the product enters their markets free of pests. Bolivia (as an example) requests the exporter for a phytosanitary import permit issued by its sanitary authority, the National Service for Agricultural Health and Food Safety-SENASAG.

It is important to mention that thanks to recent studies it was confirm that the sweet passion fruit or granadilla is not the host of two species of fruit flies Ceratitis capitata and Anastrepha fraterculus. This will allow exporters to reach more international markets such as the United States, Chile, Argentina, among others.
