Senasa has suspended the issuance of sanitary and phytosanitary permits for agricultural imports from Bolivia to guarantee safe trade. This measure will be in force while the phytosanitary import requirements signed with the National Service of Agricultural Health and Food Safety of Bolivia (SENASAG) are reviewed and updated.

During 2019, fresh agricultural products from Bolivia totaled just US $ 5 million, which represented 0.3% of the total imported. The main products provided by Bolivia were corn (US$ 1.8 million), peas (US $ 1.7 million) and Brazil nuts($ 581 thousand).
