African pigeon peas prices may trade higher in general due to shipment delays from a major pigeon peas exporting port in Africa, where loading has been halted due to some policy issues. Currently, India has seen a significant increase in the price of raw pigeon peas, which in turn supported an uptrend for the early domestic harvest and imported varieties from Myanmar. Thus, when normal supplies from Africa resume, the prices of African pigeon peas are expected to be under pressure, especially with the arrival of new domestic pigeon peas in India by the end of 2022.
