The British Columbia Cherry Crop will be at only 50-60% of the expected volume this year due to the cold, wet spring. It has been one of the coldest Mays on Record.
The British Columbia crop was already facing a lot of pressure because Washington State (USA) had a harvest that missed expectations. (Expected 24 million MT, yielded 14 million MT.) It also snowed during harvest time. Prices and demand are expected to be high all around, with priority given to larger exporters on futures and programs for existing fruit.
