Positive Trend for Hass Avocados in French Wholesale Market is Expected

According to different wholesalers based in the Rungis market, France, the last two weeks for Hass Avocados saw a downward trend in terms of prices. Avocado buyers claim that the market has been under pressure, reflected by the low prices reported during the last two weeks.

This situation was caused mainly by the big arrivals of hass avocados from Israel and Colombia, which overflowed the market. On top of that, the quality from these two origins was heterogeneous, adding more difficulties to the marketing of this product. In terms of prices, buyers mentioned that the average sales price was between EUR 6.00 to EUR 9.50 per box, depending on the fruit's size and quality. Buyers expect that within the next two weeks, the stocks available on the market will be absorbed, pushing the prices to a positive trend.
