Poultry Meat Prices Continue Rose in September 2022

The price of poultry meat increased in China in September 2022 to an average price of USD 3.41/kg (RMB 24.81/kg), an increase of 2.3% MoM and a 15.5% YoY. In W36, the average price of chicken in China stood at USD 3.38/kg (RMB 24.58/kg), in W37 and W38 it rose to USD 3.42/kg (RMB 24.86/kg), and in W39 to USD 3.42/kg (RMB 24.91). As the feed cost continues to rise, the profit of chicken farming has dropped sharply. According to the National Development and Reform Commission’s Price Monitoring Center, the average profit per chicken in the first three weeks of September was USD 0.11 (RMB 0.82), a decrease of 70.1% from August 2022.
