Harvest of Australian potatoes started in November for the upcoming Christmas season, and growers are keen to move stocks quickly before more severe weather conditions start. Priority will be given to retail programs for premium table potatoes, after which export markets will begin. Prices have started to increase as domestic demand is satisfied and remaining volumes are allocated to export. FOB prices for Australian potatoes in W46 stood at USD 0.81/kg (AUD 1.20/kg) to USD 0.84/kg (AUD 1.25/kg), representing a 9% increase from October 2022.
