Due to rainy weather in the main regions of cherry production in Russia, the berry quality has significantly reduced. The increased humidity causes the berry to crack, which affects its appearance and the selling price. As for the 15th of June, gardeners of the southern regions of Russia are forced to sell cherries at reduced prices of RUB 100-180/kg (USD 1.38-2.49/kg), which is on average 30% cheaper than a week earlier.
