Prices of Greenhouse Aubergines and Zucchinis Decreased in Italy Due to Low Demand

Prices of greenhouse aubergines and zucchinis have fallen since the last week of 2022 in Italy due to low demand. Both products play a central role in the Mediterranean diet, but despite the good quality of the products grown in greenhouses, domestic demand has decreased by 8% for aubergines and 11% for zucchinis. In W2, aubergines are sold at the average price of USD 2.04/kg, a drop of 9% MoM, while zucchinis are available at USD 1.37/kg, a drop of 11% MoM.
