Thai Siam Ruby Pomelos Hit Shanghai Shelves at Premium Rates Amidst Chinese Ma Jia Red-Fleshed Pomelo Competition in W3

On January 18, 2024, the Agriculture Department of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai surveyed the Ole supermarket in Shanghai, revealing the availability of Thai red-fleshed pomelos. The price of Siam Thai Ruby Pomelo (Red Flesh), a whole fruit type, stood at USD 14.14 per 1.2 per kilogram (kg) (THB 495/1.2kg). In comparison, the cost of the Chinese red-fleshed pomelo, recognized as Ma Jia red-fleshed pomelo (size L) from Jiangxi Province, China, for the whole fruit type, is USD 5.69/1.2kg (THB 199 per 1.2kg). A peeled version is also available at the same price as the whole pomelo.
