In India, tomato prices in parts of Karnataka have dropped from a high of USD 1.69/kg (INR 140/kg) to around USD 0.24/kg (INR 20/kg) due to improved supply. The supply of the commodity has improved by two to three times compared to August, leading to a sharp decline in prices. The highest price of tomatoes at the wholesale rate at Mysuru APMC was USD 1.69/kg (INR 140/kg) in August. During W36, tomato retail prices stood at USD 0.36/kg (INR 30/kg) in the state.
