Cameroonian rice importers are having more interest in buying Indian plain white rice (in 5% broken condition) because of its low price, which is making Thai plain white rice less competitive. For the past few years, Thailand's rice production has dramatically dropped due to governmental restriction on irrigation followed by reduced acreage of off-season rice. Eventually, this decrease in the production of Thai rice has put India in an advantageous position with Indian rice in increasing demand.
