Isparta is the center of rosehip oil production in Turkey with an annual production volume of 15 kmt. 1 kg of rosehip oil is produced from 3,500 kg of roses and the cost of the rosehip oil was around 14,000 USD per kg a few years ago.

However, the price has taken a significant hit in recent years and the current price is around 7,000 USD per kg. The growers indicate that the reason behind the price decline is the drop-off in the global market demand for cosmetic products due to the global economic downturn.
