Due to severe cold temperatures, the harvesting cycle and quality of bananas in the southern region of Brazil have been affected. Fruit harvest has been delayed on an average of 45 days, causing quality issues. The harvested fruits have too dark skin from the cold and are maturing too quickly(on an average of 5-7 days after harvest). The situation is expected to get better as the weather gets warmer.
