Singapore has initiated a unique project called "Our Fish Storey," which involves farming fish in repurposed containers to address this issue. Specifically, the project focuses on cultivating Australian Grouper in these containers.

The cost of setting up a fish farm in one container is USD 22.7 thousand (EUR 18 thousand), and each container has the potential to produce a substantial quantity of fish, approximately 12 thousand kilograms (kg) per year.

This innovative farming model aims to contribute significantly to Singapore's seafood production. The project aims to provide 30% of the country's seafood needs by 2023, offering a sustainable and locally sourced solution to address food security challenges.
