South African table grape exports for the 2021/2022 season increased by 4% to an all-time high of 335,750 tons. However, increased transport costs, delayed shipments, containment measures, and inefficiencies at the port of Cape Town through which 95% of table grapes are exported, put pressure on the industry. Europe is the main export market for South Africa's table grapes, which is about 75% of total exports.
