The consulting company Datagro reviewed projection to an all time record at 190.9 million tonnes of soybean production in South America this season 2019/20, with sowing area at 59.9 million hectares. Growth was driven by Brazil, the only country with an increase in area and production. While Paraguay maintained the same output of a year before, Argentina, Bolivia and Uruguay witnessed a decrease in production due to climate issues. In Argentina, the second largest soy producer in the region, the forecast reduced from 53 to 49.8 million tonnes.
