Spain and Chile promote agriculture alliance

The agricultural food balance between both countries leans in favor of Chile, as its exports to Spain are approximately to 177 million dollars (151,2 million euro) in contrast to Spanish imports to Chile averaging 126 million dolars (107 million euro), according to the Chilean Minister of Agriculture, Antonio walker. Chile is the only country with a mediterranean climate in the southern hemosiphere, Spain considers it to be a key ally, said the minister.

The association between both contries would also serve as a strategic platform to access their respective continents: Spain can be a gateway for Chilean products to enter Europe and in return, Chile can facilitate access for Spanish exports to other nations in America and access to destinations in the Pacific, such as China or even Vietnam.
