Market Entry of Italian Angeleno Plums Force Spanish Exporters to Rethink Prices

The aggressive entry of Italian Angeleno plums into the market has forced Spanish exporters to rethink their prices. There are markets in which Spain and Italy are not direct competitors. However, in the case of the Middle East, Spanish plums have been offered at USD 0.40/kg EXW above the new Italian offers. Spain has been offering small calibres around USD 1.27/kg EXW while Italy has been offering prices of USD 0.80/kg EXW.
