Spanish Pear Prices Are High in W49 Due to a Supply Shortage and High Demand

The severe shortage of Spanish pears and strong demand from Europe kept the prices high. The packinghouses are expected to wait until after Christmas to reopen cold storage. In W49, the limited availability of big calibres has pushed the price for calibres 65–75 to reach over USD 1.21/kg exw on box pallets, while intermediate-sized calibres 55–65 remain stable at USD 0.63/kg on box pallets.
