Contrary to what is normally expected during the oilseed harvest, the price of sunflower oil is rising in Argentina. Three factors are having a direct impact on it, First, the planting period was delayed in Argentina due to a long drought observed in most countries in southern South America, which delayed the entire harvest. Usually, at this time of year, Argentine fields should be harvesting the sunflower at full throttle. Second, there is less supply worldwide, with the off-season occurring in the Black Sea region and in most of the northern hemisphere. Third, RSBO (refined soya bean oil) continues to rise steadily, which helps to boost the prices of other vegetable oils.
