Taiwanese lettuce is entering its peak season with an average export size of about 600 g per head of lettuce. The main destination for Taiwanese lettuce is Japan and South Korea to fill the gap for the season. However, freight cost has been increasing drastically, that some exporters decided not to export due to low profit and high risk for port congestion. The freight cost to either South Korea or Japan has increased by more than USD 500 in the past month.
