On January 29, 2024, the Prime Minister of Thailand led the signing ceremony of a protocol between Thailand's Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and the Customs Office of the People's Republic of China. This protocol involves amending the criteria for veterinary inspection, quarantine, and hygiene for exporting frozen poultry meat and Thai poultry parts to China.
The expectation is that Chinese authorities will expedite the inspection of poultry farms, slaughterhouses, and packing factories in Thailand. This step aims to facilitate the export of poultry parts, such as chicken feet, to China, aligning with the market demand in China. This development comes after a lack of certification since 2020.
