Puspahiang village in the West Java province has recently emerged as the new major producing of mangosteen in Indonesia. There is around 100 hectare of lands in this area that has been used actively to produce mangosteen. The first stage of mangosteen production in this area was initiated in 2017 and has continued since. Aside from accommodating the local demand, a portion of the production output from this province has also been exported overseas, especially to nearby countries such as Malaysia and the Philippines. Currently, this area has a production capacity of around 300 MT/year and there is still a potential that the production capacity can be increased in the near future.
