The price of edible oil is increasing significantly in the Ethiopian market

The price of edible oil is increasing significantly in the Ethiopian market in the past weeks.
A month ago, the price of local edible oil was about 70 birr per liter ( 1 USD= 41.01 Birr) but the price has spiked in recent weeks and has reached about 100 birr per liter. The price at some retail markets has also reached 105 birr per liter.
The reasons for the recent spike in the price of edible oil are the recent unrest in different regions of the country and the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in the distribution channels of the product.
