Between the week that passed (July 13th) and the one that comes (July 27th), San Luis will make two shipments of alfalfa to the Middle East. On Thursday, a shipment of 10 cans of 25 tons each, which belongs to a purchase made by the Argentine Emirati Chamber, will export this raw material to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. They are countries that have a strong restriction on the use of water because a large proportion of their territories are covered by the desert. They need alfalfa to feed the cows in their farms, which are world-class.
A second and perhaps a more strategic shipment will probably take place on Tuesday when the province will make its first direct sale to Qatar. It will be a witness sale of 15 tons of alfalfa. If they are satisfied with the merchandise and the sellers can verify that the payments arrive in a timely manner, there is a contract already signed to supply them with another 15K tons.
Both the 250 tons sold to the business chamber and the 15 that will go to Qatar are of premium quality, premium alfalfa, which contains between 18 and 22% protein.
