The soybean market in Russia is divided into two large regional markets, practically unrelated to each other: the western (Central Federal District, Northwestern Federal District, Volga Federal District, Southern Federal District, North Caucasus Federal District, as well as the Urals and Western Siberia), and eastern (Far Eastern Federal District, Siberian Federal District, Ural Federal District).
Due to logistic features, the European (western) part of Russia and the Far East are two independent markets.
Processors in the western part of the market are focused on the most affordable raw materials and process almost all soybeans grown in the Central and Southern Federal Districts, as well as imported soybeans.
While Eastern processors use raw materials produced in the Far East and export them to China.
The meal produced in the European part of Russia is consumed by local farms or exported to Europe, while Siberian and Far Eastern companies provide only their own market and practically do not sell their products in the European part of the Russian Federation.
