Turkey's white meat sector's exports in 2021 reached 632 thousand MT, showing an increase of 17.3% compared to the previous year. Exports were 539 thousand MT in 2020, 503 thousand MT in 2019, 506 thousand MT in 2018, and 441 thousand MT in 2017. Exports to 93 countries were made in the white meat sector last year, resulting in a foreign exchange return of USD 894 million. Export value increased by 54.2% last year compared to the previous year. In 2020, exports were at the level of USD 579 million. To reach the targets, in parallel with the potential of the sector, new markets and the development of some markets are needed. Almost half of the exports are made to Iraq, but it is unclear when and for what technical reason the regional administrations will cause problems. Import figures in the sector are less than 10% of exports.

The number of companies exporting to the Philippines increased. India is a target and an important market. Our exports to Egypt are made through intermediary countries. A growth of around 12% is expected in the sector in 2022.
