Turkish black figs making headway in the Hong Kong market

Black is an important Turkish export product with most exports sold to the Western European countries, such as the United Kingdom and Germany. However, Turkish black fig exporters have started to gain more ground in the Far East markets where products are delivered via air freights due to the shorter shelf life of figs.

Black figs have started to become more popular in Hong Kong, and Turkish black fig exporters increase their fig export volume to this destination consistently over the recent years. However, despite their efforts, consumers in Singapore have taken a liking to black figs so far. Therefore the sales volume to this country remains considerably low at this point.
