The USA was the biggest market for the 2020 crop of Turkish dried figs. However, the USA lowered its demand due to the increased logistics costs, and the focus on Turkish export moved to Europe. For the 2021 crop, Germany and France have emerged as the top destinations, and the USA is ranked 3rd with a 25% decrease compared to 2020. Turkish companies are not worried as there is no competition for US markets due to Turkish domination of figs production. They are hopeful that demand will increase if the logistics costs come back to normal.
