The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) will import 40,000MT of rice with the tender bids open for submission until 25 November. Deliveries will be requested between 5 December 2022 and 15 February 2023. In addition to the purchase of imported short and long-grain packaged rice, offers can also be made for domestically produced rice within Turkey. In October, TMO announced a 20% increase in the average paddy prices which was reflected in the TUIK data. There was an increase of up to 22.4% in the prices of unprocessed natural rice in the market. The aforementioned price increases were reflected on the retail shelves.
