The quality of Turkish Gaziantep pistachios is unrivalled in the world market. However, Turkish pistachios must compete with other major pistachio producing countries, mainly Iran and the United States, due to its market prices that are at least 30–35% higher. As a result, Turkish pistachio exports dropped by 42-43% since the beginning of August. The decline in exports in W46 was limited to 10-15%. The price of roasted pistachios increased by 13.6% in only two days, from USD 11.81/kg on November 16 to USD 13.42/kg on November 18.
